The role played by electrode paste in mineral heat furnaces
In the equipment of mining electric furnace:
the electrode is akin to the “heart” of the mining electric furnace. The quality of the electrode directly influences product production. The electrode is primarily composed of self-baking electrode paste as the raw material and is baked by the producer of the mining electric furnace. The quality of self-baking electrode paste and the operational level of the producer of the mining electric furnace jointly determine the quality of the electrode.
In the mining electric furnace, the electrode undertakes the crucial responsibilities of conducting current and converting electrical energy into thermal energy. During the industrial production process, the current enters the furnace through the electrode and then generates an arc. It mainly relies on the arc energy to release heat and conduct high-temperature smelting to produce products. The quality of the production and operation of the mining electric furnace entirely depends on whether the electrode is in a normal working state.
If problems such as hard breakage, soft breakage, being too short, being too long, rupture, paste leakage, and fire spitting occur in the electrode, it will affect the normal production of products. Sometimes it can lead to several hours or even several days of furnace shutdown. In severe cases, it may also cause personal accidents, which is undoubtedly an enormous waste of manpower, material resources, and financial resources.
