In the mineral heat furnace equipment, the electrode is like the ‘heart’ of the mineral heat furnace, and its quality is directly related to the production of the product. Electrodes are mainly made of self-cultivated electrode paste as raw materials, and are roasted by the producer of the mineral heating furnace. The quality of the self-cultivated electrode paste and the level of operation of the producer of the mine-heated electric furnace both play a role in the quality of the electrode. Electrodes are responsible for conducting electric current and converting electrical energy into thermal energy in the mineral heating furnace. In the industrial production process, the current through the electrode into the furnace to produce arc, mainly relying on the arc can release heat, high-temperature smelting to produce products. The production and operation effect of the mineral heating furnace is entirely dependent on whether the electrode is in normal working condition. If the electrode such as hard break, soft break, too short, too long, rupture, leakage of paste, stabbing fire and other problems, then the normal production of the product will be affected, sometimes resulting in a few hours or even a few days of furnace shutdown, and in serious cases may also lead to personal accidents, which is undoubtedly a great waste of manpower, material and financial resources.
Our factory has made regulations on the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transport and storage of self-baking electrode paste for mine heaters, which is applicable to the self-baking electrode paste used in closed, semi-closed and open mine heaters.

Mineral hot electric furnace smelting product varieties, such as calcium carbide, ferrochrome, ferrosilicon, ferronickel, etc.; furnace type there are differences, there are closed furnace, open furnace, etc.; geometric and electrical parameters are also different, electrode diameter of 1.2m, 1.4m, etc., the power of the transformer is 25500kVA, 33000kVA and so on. All these factors will have an impact on the roasting rate and consumption rate of self-baking electrode paste in the process of use, so it is necessary to configure different formulas according to different mineral heat furnaces in order to achieve a balanced state of roasting and consumption. Self-electrode paste prepared by different formulas has different physical and chemical indexes, and can be divided into No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 self-baking electrode paste, the specific content is shown in Table 1-4.
